Casting Crowns!

We had a great family evening on Saturday -- we had tickets to see Casting Crowns in Toronto! Casting Crowns has been a family favourite of ours for years and we'd purchased tickets to see them a few years ago but the concert was cancelled -- so we couldn't miss this opportunity. We drove to TO in the rotten, wintery weather and waited outside the church in a very long line (in the snowy blizzard) but it was worth it! We had a great evening! Queensway Cathedral seats 3,000 (we were told) and it was jam-packed. At one time in the evening the lead singer, Mark Hall, asked those who were serving the one True God to stand up and it was so cool to see so many! The concert was so God-honouring and faith-encouraging and it was wonderful to share the experience with our kids. We'd go back at any other opportunity!
Below is a You-Tube recording of Casting Crowns. It's one of our favourite songs: "Who Am I?"

Mom's 75th Birthday!

Today we celebrated mom's 75th birthday! We'd planned on taking mom to a seafood restaurant so she could have a nice halibut (HAS to be halibut!) fish dinner but the restaurant cancelled our reservations last Friday because they were closed for Family Day! Thankfully Swiss Chalet was opened and we had a nice lunch there instead. Then everyone came back to our place for goodies and a visit. We had a fun time. Melanie & Peter and family weren't able to come.

I Found The Old Movies!

I was looking for something else last weekend (didn't find it) but I found our old movies! How exciting! We've enjoyed watching them as a family and laughing at so many things. I've videotaped the videos to post here so they're not very great quality, but the best that I can do right now. We have to get them moved over from 8mm & VHS tapes to a DVD but that will take time. Enjoy! (sorry about the small print but somehow the videos won't work when I enlarge the print...grrrr -- EDITED TO ADD: I had these videos working & then some of the code disappeared...soooooooo, I am working on this...keep checking!!!)
